End of the year already!

Posted by ramagi Nov. 7, 2007 @ 10:17 PM EST

Well it seems like this year just started to me.

Yet I find it's November already.
Now holloween is past, everyone going to look right past Thanksgiving, well at least the people in the US. Right To Christmas, Boxing day, Chanukah, or what ever you celebrate, if you do.

It gets crazy in mid to late December at the major shopping places around here, I already heard some one talk about doing their holiday shopping at work. I havn't thought about that much, or even have any idea what to get for the people on my list. How many you have even thought about starting your shopping?

Work has been a bit crazy of late for, really cut into my net time. Not that I have been working a crazy amount of time, but have been getting 8-12 hours of overtime the last couple weeks. Things are looking to return to normal here for a while. Plus the fact I gotten into playing a game that not on this site, I know shame on me, but hell it's been a great stress relief for me. That what really counts well at least to me the rest you, screw you guys, I'm doing my thing.

We borrowed the game and game system from some we know who has been over seas in Iraq. The good news is he looks like he will be home for the holiday's, and may even get to come home for good, he's been on extended stay already, due to the great govermental policy's. The bad news is will have to return things to him, but ah well, it has been a nice distraction. It insipred me enough to make some changes to profile and sig :)
If you have a p3 I do suggest you at least rent the game to check it out.
If you don't know what it is read this
The reason I suggest renting is the game is over 60$ and really , while the graphics and the way it looks are what you would expect the game. The game play is ok, but could be better, I would give it a 7-8 score out of 10. I'm not sure I would spend the money to buy it. Mostly due to the fact anyone with skill could probably beat it in 6-8 hours. I really have not had the time to sit down for that long to play in one sitting.

Ok for those who posted for my last news, I made sure to answer all, I have had a couple predictions come true already. I had a lto request for January 1st, so I'm sure I'll make some update or announcement to show the results that day.

Feel free to leave comments :)

yes, happy holidays to you too ^_^ Didn't do anything for Halloween, but will hopefully do something for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't have a PS3, but I've seen some trailers for that game, and it looks pretty awesome. My friends will probably get one soon for MGS. I like your new theme, better than blood if you ask me ;) Oops that list is really long and calling my name, gotta go!

Nov. 7, 2007 | 11:23 PM ramagi responds:

Yea I went with my nephew on Hallopween. It so much fun to watch him.
The old theme took all of like 5 maybe 10 minutes, I actually put effort into this one.
I wasn't quite saying happy holiday yet, but sure I'll go with that. was just thinking that latly time moving right on by quickly.

I was actually thinking about that yesterday, how this year has gone by too fast.
2007 seemed to be a year for Newgrounds to flourish, and whole lots have happened. I really can't remember if spring 2007 was a long time ago, or it just passed, I don't have good time prospectives. I dont have a PS3, but I've seen the gameplay for Heavenly Sword, sorta seems like God of War.

Nov. 7, 2007 | 11:34 PM ramagi responds:

Ng grew for sure this year. yea at times it seems like it zipped by.

I never played God of War so I couldn't tell you. I enjoyed it enough, I'm a graphic kind of person, so it's up my ally.

I always rent games first (unless it's been givin to me as a gift), but only if my little brother is coming 'cause you don't see anyone over 12 in the video game isle.
I'm thinking of getting a Wii 'cause there's a ton of games I want for it. I guess the only down side is all games are $40 instead of just popular ones.

The year went by slow for me! I dunno, it always goes by slow.
It gets slower & slower the more a certain day you want to happen gets closer & closer (christmas). What can I say? I love christmas (not counting the TV specials).

Nov. 7, 2007 | 11:29 PM ramagi responds:

Yea the Wii doesn't look too bad, I'm not a big gamer, just happened to fall into this current one. I don't get into al lthat this system is better stuff.

If you will like christmas specials watch ABC Family channel, they do a ton of tv specials for like a month or something before christmas.

i wish i could do something during thanksgiving while everyone is out. I wish they wouldnt eat so much turkey right in front of me. ( i am a vegetarian )

gobble gobble....watch out for that hatchet!

too late

Nov. 8, 2007 | 9:06 AM Duffi says:

A good friend of mine has the PS3, and it made me reconsider getting a Xbox360. Sure, it's cheaper, but the PS3 is so amazing. Messing around with my friend in various multiplayer games has been quite entertaining.

Is Heavenly Sword worth checking out? It sounds a bit like a God of War "clone." Idunno.

As for the shopping, I'm probably going to buy various christmas gifts this weekend, since they're in stock now and are generally going to be expensive later on. Besides, I always hate the sheer amount of costumers that are in market in the Christmas holiday. I always hate waiting in line for something :)

Nov. 8, 2007 | 10:19 PM ramagi responds:

I never played god of war, since your the second one to say somethign about it, guess I'll have to watch some videos on it then I
'll better be able to tell people if it is like it.

Yea smart choice on the shopping.

oh ok

Nov. 10, 2007 | 2:43 PM Malachy says:

The only reason we started thinking about holiday shopping was because my fiancee got her student loans (well...mostly grants) dispersement this past week, and she's making a lot of money at work, and we want to get things over with.

last year we made the mistake of trying to buy a Wii during Christmas week...

lets just say, there's a very lonely copy of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in our living room.

Nov. 10, 2007 | 10:32 PM ramagi responds:

oh god you tried to get a wii during x-mas last year.
yea that was not an easy find then.
yea getting the money for school is always nice, it helps you out

Nov. 11, 2007 | 12:20 AM Takeshima says:

Here in Japan we don't celebrate any of those. Except for christmas, which is unofficially a holiday. And the only halloween i've celebrated was a halloween party at school.

And in Tokyo, at anytime, anywhere, there's hordes or shoppers and kids. I'm working as a shop attendant/cashier at a nearby Adult Anime Comic/DVD store. And yes, i said kids like 12-15 yr olds. I could say its a living hell, but hey, its worth the money and time and i actually enjoy working with my boss.

PS3s here are much more reliable and cheaper..Oh about that game, Its way too expensive over there, a game here costs like 30-40 USD. Lets say...Froza Motorsport. And surprisingly, Wii games are as low as USD19.90!

Happy Holidays Ramagi! I wanna see more of you in General instead of you locking threads in C&C =D

Nov. 13, 2007 | 11:05 PM ramagi responds:

general can be mind numbing at times.

Well sounds like a an ok job, I'm surte there are much worse jobs to be had.
Damn I need you to buy some games send them to be for resale :)
Quick profit.
Bonus your boos is good to work.

Nov. 15, 2007 | 7:59 PM MattTheParanoidKat says:

Ah, Heavenly Sword, i would play it but I'm stuck in the past, and am playing Kingdom Hearts for the PS2. That's right, Kingdom Hearts.

Have a wonderful holiday, and Boxing Day will be fun when I spend my money on that day.

Nov. 16, 2007 | 10:30 PM ramagi responds:

haha I knew someone that played KH, they always said they have fun playing it.
Nothing wrong with that.

Spend wisely

Hey, Ramagi. It's sort of sad to me that everyone's looking straight past Turkey Day. No one on the BBS will even know it's my B-Day in 17 days. On the bright side it's almost time for Christmas-for me anyway. Have a happy.....whatever you celebrate.

Nov. 19, 2007 | 9:46 PM ramagi responds:

yea that is the down side when your birthday is late in the year, esp for those close to christmas.

Nov. 19, 2007 | 11:54 PM X-Naut says:

Well, as I'm a poor high school student, there's a good chance I won't be getting any new games for a while. Assassin's Creed looks really awesome, but I just wish they'd hurry up with Kingdom Hearts 3, not those cop-outs coming to the DS, PSP and cell phones next year I think.

I'll just stick with Halo 3 online. I haven't finished yet.

Happy Holidays to you, ramagi, and everyone else on NG!

And please remember: The cake is a lie.

Dec. 2, 2007 | 9:12 PM ramagi responds:

of course cake is a lie, the caik is the truth

no games for x-mas ah so sad. I'm sure the game you want till be done with time. I find most games take lots of time, esp if you want it to bee good.

Jan. 16, 2008 | 12:50 AM Vert says:

Hey there ramagi, wondering if I could possibly request a movie review from you? I know, I know, last time you reviewed a movie was months ago and by the looks of things, you most likely won't comply with my request... but all I wanted was your opinion of my lastest movie / game: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /419203
I could use more feedback before I even begin to think about my next flash project and your input would be greatly appreciated. I'd go to some other Newground legend, but since you may even actually remember me from the voting power list, there's a chance you'll honour my request (unlike the rest).
In any case, thanks.
